The Programmable Hoist Controller offers fully computerised control, combined with the simplicity and versatility of a traditional manual hoist controller. Designed by experienced motion control operators, it provides as little or as much functionality as you need, whatever the requirements of a show.
The Programmable Hoist Controller Plus has replaced the original Programmable Hoist Controller and adds even more power and versatility, with an enhanced control panel and integrated Ethernet port, for the most demanding applications. Up to 10 controllers may be linked together, providing control of up to 240 hoists. PC’s may also be connected for full screen status display and remote control functions.
To achieve computerised control, an operator only needs to tell the controller what type of hoist is connected to each channel, and then reference the position of each hoist. Hoists may then be moved to the required positions and stored as cues. That's it. No complex computer system to learn, just select a cue, press go and the hoists move. Motion control really can be this easy!
This ease of use isn't at the expense of functionality. The Programmable Hoist Controller is packed full of all the features expected from an advanced motion control system:-
All this functionality can be selected as required, or simply ignored if not needed. An operator may also override all functions at the press of a button, giving instant manual control should it be needed.
Connecting the controller couldn’t be simpler. It basically acts as an intelligent rigger’s hand control, with ‘up’ and ‘down’ relay outputs for each channel, and can be connected to existing hoist control racks.
| Compact 24 channels of computerised control in a 3U case Simple Compatible Reliable Safe Security |
Powerful Run multiple cues, sequences and manual moves, all at the same time Toggle switches for instant manual control and channel select buttons for fast programming and versatile live control Softpatch to re-direct channels should other equipment fail Positioning Time based positioning - the controller tracks the real world position of a hoist as if an encoder is fitted Weight

(N.B. The PHC is fitted with the high quality Neutrik standard XLR6 connector, which is not compatible with the inferior Switchcraft version of the XLR6 connector)
CONTROL OUTPUTS
1 twelve pin connector per 4 channels, for connection to motor control distros etc. 3 relay output pins per channel - common, up & down.
LOAD CELLS
1 XLR4 connector, for connection to digital load cells.
ETHERNET
Neutrik XLR style RJ45 Ethernet connector. Connect directly to one other controller or PC using a cross over CAT5 / CAT5e network cable, or connect to a full network via a standard Ethernet hub.
